    • Jim Fournier's thing (presented at Protocols/Symposium 2026). He's been flogging these ideas for a few decades and I suspect he's stuck (but he may be right)
    • Basic idea seems sound:
      • life evolves into a state of crisis (eg, the oxygen catastrophe), life somehow transitions into a new regime that resolves the crisis and goes for awhile until it too reaches a crisis point.
      • we are in the midst of one of these crisis-transitions (petroleum-based technology)
      • maybe even see solutions appearing, cybernetics eg
    • But there's a lot of woo there too, lots of quanum this and octave that. But I am less allergic to that kind of stuff than I used to be.
    • His presentation style had a very Long Now flavor and I told him so. The content is a similar to What Technology Wants. Honestly not quite sure what is new and interesting in his stuff.
